Born in 1960 in Đồng Nai, Vietnam, Mai Văn Nhơn is a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and the Đồng Nai Literature and Arts Association. Specializing in oil painting and ceramic mosaic, his works have been showcased in numerous exhibitions, including a solo exhibition at the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum in 2017 and a group exhibition with Vietnamese-French artists at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum in 2018. His art has been regularly featured in the Southeast Region Fine Arts Exhibitions since 1998.

A pioneer in contemporary mosaic, Nhơn uses local colored ceramics to create works that blend Eastern aesthetics with symbolic and impressionistic influences, earning widespread recognition. In 2010, he contributed to a 50-meter ceramic mosaic for the Red River Ceramic Road, recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest ceramic mural. In 2017, the Vietnamese Government commissioned him to create a 21-portrait ceramic mosaic collection of APEC leaders as national gifts, presented to figures like U.S. President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Vietnam National Television (VTV) produced a documentary on Vietnamese ceramics, noting: “Through ceramics, mosaic art has built a bridge of friendship from the hearts of Vietnamese people to the world, and Mai Văn Nhơn has achieved this with Đồng Nai ceramics. Modern Vietnamese ceramics have earned a rightful global place”(1). His works are displayed at Vietnam’s National Assembly, private residences, churches, and libraries worldwide, with some featured in Vietnamese secondary and high school textbooks.
