Urban Halo A collaborative photo project by Oviul Maruf and Manob Saha

The project focuses on the interaction between light and everyday urban life. Warm golden tones, dramatic silhouettes, and atmospheric compositions give the photographs a cinematic feeling, turning familiar streets into scenes that feel both real and dreamlike. In one image, the busy rhythm of a crowded street unfolds under a glowing sky, where people move through the city carrying their stories and struggles. In another frame, a lone silhouette stands against swirling light and mist, creating a powerful sense of mystery and introspection. Elsewhere, illuminated architecture rises against a quiet evening sky, showing how the city can feel calm and reflective after the rush of the day fades.

What makes Urban Halo unique is its focus on the unnoticed. Instead of seeking dramatic events or staged scenes, the project captures everyday life as it naturally unfolds—moments of conversation, movement, solitude, and silence. Through careful attention to composition and atmosphere, the photographers transform these ordinary situations into visual narratives that invite viewers to slow down and observe.

For Oviul Maruf, whose work often explores mood and light within urban environments, the project reflects a belief that photography begins long before the shutter is pressed. Each frame starts with imagining how the scene might look and feel, allowing light and composition to guide the storytelling. Working together with Manob Saha, the collaboration brings two perspectives into a shared vision: revealing the hidden beauty of urban life.
