The tree remembers the forest where it lived

This is a chest of drawers that I urgently bought because I needed a storage closet after the loss of all things due to an accident. I bought it at the 'Emmaüs' thrift store for 25 euros. In the end, I bought it because the price and size were right for the purpose of the purchase, but in fact, it was an unknown design to me. As a Korean, for me this dresser was elegant and traditional French style. The dresser and I are in an unknown room. Neither of us seem to fit into this room, nor each other. I asked it, an unknown being, what kind of existence it had. Just a chest of drawers, but before that it was used in another house in the past, had another owner, maybe had driven a long distance in a van, used to be wood, was a tree before that, and lived in the area. Forest. When the dresser is another being in front of me with its countless stories, the dresser becomes "you" rather than "thing". When I said "You don't look like you fit here." it said "I'm like you." At that moment, I saw myself sitting in an unfamiliar room, an unfamiliar region, and an unfamiliar country.

As the direction of the viewpoint changed slightly, the object showed a change in its existence. When the perception that was previously easily referred to as an "object" was removed, it began to pull away from familiarity and distance herself from me. Ordinary everyday objects have given me a different perspective on my life and my identity. Beyond the simple explanation of the history of my life, through their questions outside of my existing thought, the objects freed themselves from their status of objects which were only elements of my thoughts, which do not exist. 'only made sense when they were selected and established by me. Objects that had changed meaning of existence from their point of view were recognized as other through virtual dialogue and re-recognition through work. I, who suffered from an identity crisis due to the loss of objects, was no longer defined by my own certainty. This time I was looking at myself through the eyes of objects. To be precise, I saw myself through the eyes of the things I saw. In this process two or more separate selves are identified, and through this experience I have felt myself becoming unfamiliar with myself.
