ATHIMDA is an indie recording artist from South Africa in the Eastern Cape East London who was born on the 12 th of January 1992. ATHIMDA was introduced to the sounds of Hip Hop the same year 50Cent had released ‘The Massacre’ and that’s when and how he fell in love with Hip Hop. He started writing the following year, 2006 but never took it serious until the year 2011 when he recorded and released his first mixtape (Sunnyridge) which was followed by another mixtape the following year, 2012 (Love, Pleasure & Party Hard) and he again released another one in 2013 (Commitment). He had since been quiet up until the year 2016 when he released an EP (Blessing EP) which gained him a bit of respect, the EP was released on the 20 th of May 2016. ATHIMDA also released another EP (Journey With THe SouL EP) ATHIMDA also was nominated at the Eastern Cape Music Awards which were hosted in 2017 which he unfortunately didn’t win.
