The Pleasure

The Pleasure explores the culture of enjoyment and the aesthetics of the contemporary city. Bright gummy bears play against a backdrop of pink facades and palm-lined boulevards, transforming rigid architecture into a space of fun and imagination. Their forms and colors create a dynamic rhythm where order meets play, and the city takes on the character of a playground.

The work references the legacy of Pop Art and the vibrant palette of the 1980s–90s, using infantile imagery as a language of joy and collective nostalgia. The Pleasure becomes a metaphor for a culture in which pleasure is rapidly consumed—vivid, colorful, and ironic—inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in contemporary pleasure!

Inspiration

The work was inspired by Tel Aviv itself—a city of contrasts, where strict Bauhaus facades coexist with palm trees and beaches. In these spaces, sport and leisure become part of urban life, and the very architecture turns into a stage for vibrant characters. This clash of history, urbanism, and the lightness of everyday pleasures became the foundation of the painting.
