I started to put my art into practise as a teenager. I had been painting since I was a child, and I also experimented with sculptures made of wood and clay. But studying art was out of the question for my family. So I decided on a profession in which I could also express myself and became an actress and presenter. My need to express myself haptically and to create something lasting remained and so I continued painting and exhibited my oil paintings at the beginning of the 2000s. Because of my popularity due to my professions, the press reported, I was invited to talk shows, was supposed to paint live, etc. I felt uncomfortable with this, so I put down my rubber spatula - with which I exclusively painted.

Instead, I founded design labels - to still have an outlet for my creativity - and got a patent for a reversible bag I designed. I had always been interested in optimizing things and this patent combines my need for artistic satisfaction and the statement that in most cases, things are not only what you see at first sight. The opportunity to change still fascinated me. The company failed due to the insolvency of my investor, and so I decided to give painting my full concentration again. For almost two years now, I have dedicated myself to the preparation and implementation of my Hope series. My style had changed, instead of using a spatula and oil, I now dab with acrylic. The dabbing technique allows my works to develop and show synergies where none were seen in the beginning. Harmonies and disharmonies emerge, which finally merge into one picture.

I conceive my paintings by dealing with contents that I want to communicate. First the contents are created, which I formulate in writing, then the corresponding vision in my head, which shapes and colours are necessary to transport these contents. Only then I go to the canvas. Acrylic is my chosen material, as the dabbing remains more visible and I can apply layer after layer until the overall structure of the motif is achieved. Each painting is thus created in a few weeks and also stands symbolically as a starting point for the time needed for changes to develop.

I paint in order to communicate, in order to make topics representational, which concerns each of us in the present time. Therefore my series Hope comprises a total of eight works, symbolic of infinity.

As the daughter of a Cameroonian Minister of State and a German academic councillor, I spent several years in Pakistan and Togo as a teenager due to my mother's activities abroad as a foreign expert. In addition, the colour of my skin was and is a constant theme both in my professions and in my private encounters. My need for harmony between supposedly opposing backgrounds, experiences, needs and views shaped me early on and is reflected in my work.
