I was born in Mexico, grew up in Minneapolis and Mexico City. I lived in San Francisco for four and a half years where I finished my BFA in Printmaking and Painting. I am currently located back in Mexico City, where my exploration continues. My work is an experimentation process focusing on texture, form and color relations that emerge without an unpredictable result. I use materials found around the city before they become waste, to contrast with vibrant colors I uses oil paint and pastels for its rich saturation and for my pleasure in mixing thick amount of paint. Some of the things I scavenge for are news paper, scrap paper, flyers, cardboard, used fabric, wood, windows etc. The process of deformation and transformation of things become a visual reminisce of  my transitory time in the place where I live. Multiple layers and fragments of these materials are put together into a three dimensional piece approaching my work like a sculpture as I constantly build up the surface.  The contrast in color and found material is a unique representation of how city life and city waste can become something more than ordinary. Like a city, my work is a mixture of elements, diversity by producing a composition of contrasting details.

I have been in  several solo and group exhibitions in Mexico City and in San Francisco and have recently been selected to be part of the XVI Bienal de Pintura Rufino Tamayo 2014.  In 2012 I had my first solo show “La forma orgánica,” at Locanda located in  la Colonia Roma in Mexico City. As I finished my BFA in 2013 I had my second solo show “Multiplicity” at The Canery in San Francisco, I was one of the few artists selected from my class to have this show. I showed my first series created in Mexico City “Sumis” at El Tercer Lugar located in la Colonia Juarez. I participated in multiple (2010-2013) “Print Exchanges”  of San Francisco and have collaborate with many artists.  I was part of the Spring Show of the Academy of Art the four years I was a student (2009-2013), this event was juried by the heads of every department. In 2011 I was part of a group show with 5 other artists at Bush Gallery in San Francisco.  Having a history of photography I have been asked to document cultural  and social events in Mexico City.
