Fuschlsee
float glass with drift wood
cold worked - layered, UV-glued, ground, sandblasted

This sculpture brings together layered, cold-worked glass and a piece of driftwood in a poetic composition defined by contrast. The turquoise glass rises in a flowing, wave-like movement—suggesting water in motion—while remaining grounded in a calm, solid base. It embodies a dialogue between movement and stillness, where energy and quiet coexist.

The surface of the glass is smooth and refined, carefully ground and polished to capture and diffuse light from within, creating a sense of depth and softness. In contrast, the driftwood remains raw and textured, shaped by time and natural forces. Here, roughness meets gentleness, and the organic form of the wood interrupts the precision of the glass.

“Fuschlsee” explores these opposing qualities—movement and stillness, roughness and softness, tension and calm—reflecting the quiet power and clarity of alpine water landscapes, translated into a contemporary sculptural form.
