Alireza Vaziri Rahimi

Alireza Vaziri Rahimi is a Designer/Educator specializing in Graphic and Interactive Design. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor of Design at the University of Texas. Over a decade of professional and academic experience has equipped him with creative methods and collaborative skills in Visual Communication Design. Alireza earned his MFA degree in Design from University of California, and his BFA in Stage Design from Tehran University of Art.

Alireza has received many prestigious awards in the design world and has been soundly honored on the global stage. He was awarded the First Prize in the International Juried Exhibition at The Center for Contemporary Art in New Jersey, 2022. He won the Best Designer title in GraphicArts, London International Creative Competition, 2021. He won the Bronze Award in the 1st Intercontinental poster competition (Poster Stellars) in New York, 2021. Before that in 2020, He was named an “Appreciate Designer” in the C2A Creative Communication Award in Los Angeles and was named the Silver Award Winner in Graphis Institute Annual publication in New York.

His works have also been displayed in numerous exhibitions and museums around the world, such as: “Artifact” an exhibition at The Sechrest Gallery of Art, North Carolina (2022), “IMAGE + BIAS” exhibition at the Goethe-Institut, San Fransisco (2021), Global Biennale of Graphic Design, Saint Petersburg, Russia (2021), “What If”, an exhibition at the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art in California (2021), Visualizing Bias with Augmented Reality exhibition, Vienna, Austria (2021), 5th International Poster Exhibition for Social Change, Leipzig, Germany (2020), Graphic Stories Design Biennial in Nicosia, Cyprus (2018), Escucha Mi Voz Poster competition, Mexico City, Mexico (2020), “CO Show” Poster Biennial, Colorado, (2019), Graphic Stories design biennial, Nicosia, Cyprus (2018), PDP Visual Communication Conference, Novi Sad, Serbia (2017), Persian Garden Poster Exhibition, Michigan (2016), Silver Cypress, 5th IGDS graphic design exhibition, Tehran, Iran (2016) and etc.

“I believe Design is a way of changing the world to be a better place. A better world may have a different definition for different people: perhaps an ergonomic chair or an interface for a pioneer application, each can make one’s world a better place to live in. As designers, we have a responsibility to our society, and we should welcome challenges and mainly confront the inner voices telling us to “just mind yourself.” As per the legendary Persian poet Rumi: “I came to you without ‘me,’ so come to me without ‘you’.”
