As an artist, I’ve always been keen on going beyond what was conventional. I have constantly experimented with various media such as charcoal, oil, ink, gum, resin etcetera in a quest to find the truth behind surfaces and facades. Textures play a huge role in my current series of works. Also another huge factor that has affected my work are my subconscious and past experiences. The forms that appear in my paintings present themselves at the back of my mind when I look at an empty canvas. My subconscious guides my strokes to shape the forms my mind sees. My skill yields a way for my brushstrokes and together they create the picture I paint.
