I’ve graduated the University of Art and Design in Cluj Napoca, Romania, in the photo-video departement. In 2011 I achieved my masters diploma in the same departement.

I’ve started painting in 2004 during one of D.Fleiss EW Artists Art Symposiums. Since than I’ve experimented a lot, mixed media and oil painting being one of my favourites.

 

The works created in 2011, to which period belong this diptych as well and are reunited under the title SELF,  have in the center the woman. It was one of my ways to discover myself as an artist and as a woman as well. I am looking for my lost and found “ego”, to my lost and found femininity. I’m discovering the woman through my works using selfportraits, portraits of the body of women shown in different poses, moments of time, surrounded by graphic signs, spots…My works show my  dreamworld, full of illusion, a mix beetween inocence and perversion. I try to reveal my changing moods. Each work represents a state of  being motivated by the will of  self/knowledge.

This year’s works are reunited under the title of ONIRIS. They continue my introspective study on women - the back and forward journey between self-portrait and the universal woman.
Following a dark introspection that concerned me in the past years, this new series shows the woman in an optimistic way, presented in a rich chromatic expression. The new rediscovered woman is walking her steps through a fantastic and miraculous land of dreams. She rediscovers a fairytale land, relieved of all her anxieties and obsessions.
As a work technique, I found oil colors appropriate. They give me the opportunity to interfere colors for furfilling my purpose, which is a discreet and suave blend of colors, meant to depict the idea described above.

 

 

My selfportrait choosen for SHE VIEWS HERSELF   is  a self portrait belonging to the series from my masters degree which I achieved in 2011.
