Since 2009 Giovanni De Benedetto (Udine, Italy 1989) has been exhibiting his works under the name of Candida Kandinskij.
His first work was a photographic art book called “Amniotico – A Deformation of Candida Kandinskij” which talks about the birth of a human-machine that discovers its human-ness and rejects it.

The book is interspersed with photos and enigmatic phrases to explain the plot.
The photography direction was carried out by two of Giovanni’s close friends that photographed him in different locations and situations.
This art book was shown at Kobo Shop in Udine during a collective exposition in 2009 and at Fantomars Gallery in Bologna in 2010.
However the first work that he entirely directed by himself was a multimedia project called Under Epiderma in 2010.
The work concerns the daily journey of “Bag”, a contemporary man made of plastic. He must survive in his reality from the moment he wakes up until he goes back to work and, in the end, he decide to quit his life.
The project is made up of 23 photos, a video-clip and an instrumental soundtrack which is not directly linked to the film, this is done to create a different impact every time that the viewer sees it. With this work Giovanni travelled around Italy from 2010 to 2011, going in some cities like Bologna (Fantomars Gallery), Forlì (Vernice Art Fair), Udine, his hometown (Kobo Shop) and Florence (Dea Gallery) where won the “Dea Press Fanzine Prize” and his Under Epiderma’s video was shown at the Mediarc X Architecture in Video Festival.
From 2011 he took up the Premature project again, a work started in 2009.
It is an abstract work where an experimental use of the paint meets the photographic technique.
This project is focused on the unpredictability of the creative process, that is dictated by the instinct and the emotions of the artist, and it is used as the means to discover new solutions and incentives. This is done with the aim to create a pure and honest work where the observer feels free to go inside the work of art and recreate it in a conceptual way.
With this project Giovanni worked for one year (2012 - 2013) with A3 Arte Contemporanea Gallery in Salerno and also he has exhibited this work in the ArtPort Gallery in Palazzolo Dello Stella (Udine) in 2013.
After this exhibition he decided to show himself with his birth name for the visual panorama, letting his alias only for the music field.
Premature project is in “perpetual making of” and Giovanni could use some different techniques to do this research.
For exemple in the 2013 he shot a short film called Premature # 15 where he shows the metaphoric route of the creation of Premature.
