I had my imprinting with Dufy. A worthless book printed in the sixties, with color pictures attached to the page, as used in those times. I wasn't able to read yet – I was 3-4 – I usually took that book secretely and I daydreamed for hours about colors and about those mysterious and charming images. Besides, I had no idea about circus and orchestra!!! That book is the more vivid reminescence when I was 3-4. You can understand perfectly my emotion when I find that book 35 years later!! A memory shock!

I had full consciousness of “the call” when I was 12-13, perhaps some years before; at that time I copied illustrations from my Jules Verne's books. In that moment I had the clear sensation of artistic vocation, something I haden't never tried before, and since then it had never left me.

My life, then, had carried me in different routes: I worked as entertainement organiser, sail teacher, sailor, ice-cream maker, factory worker, technician, designer, the librarian, the wall-painter, the upholsterer, not necessarily in the order I listed.
Other times, other lives, other age!
At the same time I met Corto Maltese, Hugo Pratt and "graphic novels"; London with him, Yeats, Baudelaire; the more I read, the more I opened new frontiers, such as a chain reaction, I alternated readings to life experiences; readings led me to make certain experiences, experiences which led me new readings and so on.
It was the time of travel, pilgrimages, the adventures of the "live".
Not being able to have an artistic guidance and even less - for the lifestyle I was leading - to attend art studies, I "folded" for several years on photography. An expedient which proved to be a real shock, that I perpetrated for years. I have always seen photography as a hallucination with open eyes, an experience that I can compare (I like the "hearsay", I've never tried) to drugs and hallucinogens.
Then life took a turn and I stopped. Physically, I mean.
In 2002 I got married and it is from 2002 that I became a student at Mario Ferrante atelier.

Since then, the "call" that I received when I was still beardless, has received a definitive answer.
