Active as artist since 1985, Pasquale Altieri began its artistic travel across multimedia in the early Nineties, realizing broadcast usable ambients (“Iperluogo”, Galleria Tempo Reale, Calcata, 1991, cured by Giuseppe Salerno),  and environmental interventions based on sensorial experiences (“Interno Rosso”, “Incantesimi” collective exhibition, Bomarzo, 1995, cured by Simonetta Lux and Miriam Mirolla) or on the biographical reconstruction of real and imaginary people (“Abschussrampe – Rampa di Lancio”, Theater and Kunst Foundation, Berlin, 2001, cured by Patrizia Bisci and Gabriella Dalesio). The last Nineties have been characterized by an introspective phase, culminating in the work “Ritrosia” (Galleria Miralli, Viterbo, 1999, cured by Angelo Capasso), based on wunderkammern principles. The stylistic sign marking the artistic production of Altieri during the whole following decade is the dichotomy among softness and futility of plush and  hardness (either material or conceptual) of things covered with it. Many works have been realized by Altieri in this period, among which “1656” (Kunstmagazin Margaret Hell, Bruck an der Mur, 2002, cured by Patrizia Bisci) and “Rosa dei Venti” (Università di Tor Vergata, Roma, 2003). The uneasiness felt while facing the contradictions of the world, and of the western society in particular, explicitly express itself in the most recent works, where daily objects, once recontextualized, become looming icons (“Cose Ultime”, “Energie”, “War Games”).

In 2010, the Museo Laboratorio di Arte Contemporanea of the Università La Sapienza in Rome presented a personal exhibition of Altieri, “Utopia Patetica”, cured by Domenico Scudero, inspired by the work of Simone Weil.

In 2011, the art-work “La Gara” has been the object of a thesis of master degree at the Faculty of Cultural Heritage Conservation at the Università della Tuscia, the blue velvet mobile "Costellazione (per un elogio della differenza)" has been exposed during the festivals "Play with Food" (Torino), "Estasiarci" (Viterbo) and "Meeting Internazionale Antirazzista" (Cecina) and the graphic work "I miei Sette Figli" has been exposed at "La Fabbrica del Vapore (Milano).

Some of his works have been selected for the final expositions of the international art contests "Premio Arte Laguna" (2011, Venezia), "Premio Combat" (2013, Livorno) and SaturARTE (2013, Genova).

Altieri maintains permanent collaborations with the 3)5 Contemporary Art Gallery in Rieti (Italy).
