Raffaele Luongo is a geologist, musician and photographer.

Passionate about ethno – anthropology, he has made several reportages on the popular and religious traditions of  Basilicata and southern Italy, with whom he participated in several national and international contests.

In 2008, exposes their own photos within the event related to the theme of equal opportunities “Dissonance: reality and representation of women”, promoted by the Province of Potenza.

In 2012, is among the finalists of the contest “Racconta la tua Roma” promoted by the newspaper “La Repubblica” and the International Festival of Photography-Rome, winning the opportunity to exhibit their own shot at the MACRO (Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome).

Autumn of 2012: collaboration with the magazine “In Art”. This collaboration culminated in the realization of the event “Di Tono in Tono” during he stated, within the National Library of Potenza, a series of shots on the theme of diversity and color of autumn ritual.

For years around his beloved Basilicata, is always looking for that special “click” that can raise, confident of success. That trust has already been repaid in part thanks to the creation of  “131″  project to represent all the communities of Basilicata in key unorthodox or canonical, and through the establishment of  “LUCANIA: Paesaggi DiVersi”  whose intent is was to make it in the picture, through a personal and often allegorical verses of the poem “Lucania” by Leonardo Sinisgalli.

In August of 2013 his shot “Spiagge spettacolari” is selected by the event “11x11th” within the Lucania Film Festival, an international film festival.

In 2014 participates with two shots to the collective " Radici e percorsi su Matera e dintorni " , shows that the participation among others of Gianni Berengo Gardin .

In 2015 he was among the finalists to FIOF Awards , receiving an Honorable Mention in the category "Ricerca" .

Are being set up different jobs that enter and embrace the many different fields and dear to the photographer: the ethics of forced civilization, religion, literature, art as a representation of itself …
