Reena Dewan, was born in 1972 in Delhi in a family, where emphasis was always on academics.  While painting in the drawing class in school gave her immense pleasure, at home, it was considered an absolute waste of time.  In class II securing Ist position in an art competition did not draw any applause or encouragement from parents as they wanted her to focus on academics.  Thus, art remained buried in some corner of her heart while she grew up to join the corporate world. As she continued to grow in her career, achieving many accolades and awards at Asia pacific and global level even she forgot about the dormant artist in her.

In 1997 she got married to Sharad Dewan, who was from a creative field and his family had a flare for art.  At her in laws place, there were many paintings around, which inspired her to paint her first painting, while she was on maternity leave in 1999.

That one painting was so inspirational for her that it woke up the artist in her, this time never to sleep again. She nurtured this passion for art, and in 2007, when she left her flying carrier in corporate she began her beautiful journey of re discovering, bringing out and now training the artist in her. In between she also trained herself in classical dancing to complete the artist in her.

She joined Birla art academy and after topping in the first three years, is now in the final year.

Here is the same Reena Dewan, an inspirational artist who has her culture deep rooted in her but due to her experience of the corporate world has totally contemporary thoughts.

You can only expect fresh perspective in her paintings.  Her favorite subject is to see the Grey things in our society and present them with bright hues. Thought provoking but never dull!
