Born on October, 5th 1984 in Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy) and currently based in Bologna.
At a very young age he started to draw, so the pencil become actually a loyal partner used to create art, and not an instrument of torture to work in surveying world. Then, as years went by, his drawing style changed, slowly abandoning the pastels to concentrate solely on the black and white creations.
Roberto has encountred the World of Photography about three years ago and the monochrome has quickly became his natural habitat.
In 2014, he left Sardinia and moved to Bologna in the Italian mainland. This fact put him in the condition to understand better the island where he comes from: its uniqueness, its strenght and also its weaknesses.
“ma | re” is an intimate description of one governative-naturalistic scandal, which had a huge impact on the all city of Cagliari (Capital of Sardinia). This photographic story shows the drama of Poetto Beach, a corner of Paradise on Earth, now going through a depressing state of abandon. Roberto, thanks to this work, has won the 1st place category “Books – Non Professional” and being also nominated as a finalist in “Discovery of the Year Award” at the “IPA International Photography Awards 2015”, the 2nd place category "Special: Open Theme – Non Professional" at the “ND Neutral Density Awards 2015”, the 3rd place in “People choice - Non Professional" category "Book Proposal – Documentary” at the “PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris 2015” and he has been awarded with a “Honorable Mention – Book Documentary” at the “MIFA Moscow International Foto Awards 2015”.

Nato il 5 ottobre 1984 a Cagliari, vive e lavora a Bologna.
Ha iniziato a disegnare fin dalla tenera età e la matita, tormento se utilizzata in chiave geometrica, diventava una fedele compagna se adoperata in chiave artistica. Con il passare degli anni ha abbandonato l’uso di matite colorate per concentrarsi esclusivamente su creazioni in bianco e nero.
Roberto ha incontrato il mondo della Fotografia circa tre anni fa e la monocromia è diventata presto il suo habitat naturale.
Nel marzo 2014 ha lasciato la Sardegna per trasferirsi a Bologna. Questo cambiamento gli ha permesso di avvertire ancora più chiaramente il fascino della sua isola: le sue unicità, le sue forze e, ahimè, le sue debolezze, e da osservatore esterno vuole utilizzare la fotografia per raccontarla dal suo interno.
“ma | re”, progetto di fotografia reportagistica e di documento, è nato proprio da questo bisogno. E’ dedicato al Poetto, la spiaggia cittadina di Cagliari, alla sua lunga e travagliata storia e alle generazioni di cittadini che hanno conosciuto la sua antica bellezza. Questo lavoro ha raggiunto il 1° posto nella categoria “Books - Non Professional” ed è stato scelto come uno dei 13 finalisti per il “Discovery of the Year Award” agli “IPA - International Photography Awards 2015”, il 2° posto nella categoria "Special - Open Theme - Non Professional" agli "ND Neutral Density Awards 2015", il 3° posto del "People Choice - Non Professional" categoria "Book Proposal - Documentary" all'interno del "PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris 2015" e una "Honorable Mention - Non Professional" al "MIFA Moscow International Fotography Awards 2015".
