Sam Busiello is a young artist who finished high school at the Ross School. Her work reveals a tremendous concentration of what we call a composite mind. Sam Busiello is the kind of artist that belongs to the animal artist race, and it seems that she didn't choose art but art chose her.

Her videos show how she tries hard to connect herself to something sublime beyond daily language, something that is almost inexpressible with words. Sam Busiello tries to express the most difficult form of connection and communication between people. This is something impossible to find a definition for, or for someone to explain, but everybody knows when they view her work, which belongs to an intangible dimension behind the formal world.

Sam's vision is to make visible the invisible and to make evident what we do not see anymore because of routine. She works very hard, taking her work with complete seriousness and with a vital energy. She has made more than thirty videos that are very consistent with each other, developing a strong sense of a series.
She has enough persistence to give to her work a sense of style by juxtaposing different disciplines, such as abstract painting, sacred geometry, rhythm, music, visual animation, timing, shape, color, and dance. Sam regularly researches biology and science in order incorporate ideas from nature into her videos. By finding links between science and art, Sam's work fades the boundaries between these two disciplines.

We have heard that sometimes in art good things combined end in a bad result, but this is not the case. She has the artistic intelligence to be able to combine many different expressions together, something few can do. Her work is a good example of great beauty and we perceive this intuitively without the help of literal explanations. This strong intuition that she conveys tries to tell us something, but like in every good poem, the meaning is kept as a subtle but strong, seductive mystery.

In other words, we know what she is telling us but we can't describe it because maybe her videos have the power to remind us of something that we already know and we have forgotten. This is the power of her work. Sam Busiello forms a sophisticated style of communication appealing to beauty as a kind of religion for herself. Her work is not complicated but at the same time it has the simplicity of a real art. It is sophisticated and happy, reveling the cheeriness of a nineteen year old girl… Her work is endearing because she has no fear of connecting with something sublime, and she takes the commitment of sharing her sight with others to help them look beyond matter. She made this work overcoming hard difficulties, the kind of difficulties that real artist have to deal with at a much older age.

Somebody said that an artist is a person who is at the edge of an abyss and has no option except to go a step forward, falling into the void, and after that, managing to survive in order to come back. An artist is a juggler who walks along a tight cable with no safety net underneath and knows that any mistake he or she makes could be fatal. The juggler can't stop walking on the cable because the distance between his or her feet and the floor is their own identity as an artist. Sam makes her work in this way. Her work comes from inside to outside, like every real piece of art. Her work is a reflection of something she has inside that she cannot stop to get out. Sam Busiello does this everyday because she has no option. What she does is what she is, and her work is an evident example of that, for the people who enjoy watching her videos.
