    BIO

I am a French creator of dreams and I live in County Donegal in Ardara. I have started doing encaustic 3 years ago as i had a quick introduction to it by a friend.

I love doing it, it is a great way of relaxing my mind, when life becomes too busy.

Encaustic is just magical and can be done on almost any material. It can be done on non porous paper, tiles, ceramic, cotton, glass, wood...

Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid/paste is then applied to a surface—usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used. The simplest encaustic mixture can be made from adding pigments to beeswax, but there are several other recipes that can be used — some containing other types of waxes, damar resin, linseed oil, or other ingredients. Pure, powdered pigments can be used, though some mixtures use oil paints or other forms of pigment.

I generally create according to the moods I am in. Ireland and its landscapes, skies and nature inspire me to create the encaustic that I present you. I am very passionate about my creations and I hope you will enjoy them.
