"Sleeping woman" is part of an ongoing series of works of mine entitled "Lesions". A common theme of the works in this series is the study of the presence/absence of the human figure and its fading. It emerges as memory or hypothesis through wounds of color: each figure represents the spectator in the moment of greatest wonder or worst anguish. In "Sleeping woman", a woman whose half-closed eyelids are barely visible sleeps curled up as the darkness of her wounds envelops her from below while she sleeps or finally gives her a moment of respite.
